Ok. Not gonna lie, I have never written a blog before. I am not even sure that I have read a blog before. That said, I think that this could be an adventure. Probably not an interesting one for everyone, but we shall see how it goes.
Anyway, today is a day of new beginnings. It marks the first day that I have done my hair since I started college. It marks the first day of this blog. Here is the thing about college that I have learned in my first 5 weeks. It's just like high school. Not the social dynamics, but the lessons. I haven't learned a damn thing! However, if any of you are like me and want something to take up your time for the next month, I recommend NaNoWriMo. This stands for National Novel Writing Month. This is an event where people all over the nation (I'm assuming America) write 50,000 word novels in 30 days.
You could be thinking many things right now.
1. Novels can't be just 50,000 words long!
Yes they can. The Great Gatsby and Slaughterhouse 5 are both less than 50,000 words. Animal Farm (I almost wrote Animal House) is less than 30,000 words. You can do it.
2. Nobody can write 50,000 words in 30 days!
Yes they can. People all over the nation do it every year. You can do it.
3.Well, I can't do it.
You may be right, but are you going to quit doing things because there is a chance that you might fail? You can do it. At the very least, you can try.
It's actually really fun. It is the one excuse where you can write something that is absolute crap and nobody can judge you for it. Plus, if you do it, then you can brag about it afterwards. (wiggles eyebrows)
So, in conclusion, here is my challenge for you today:
Consider becoming a novelist.
